Edit for update: My 2014 Passat Tdi ended up with a bad turbo. Before giving the go ahead to do the work i called VW to see if it was under warranty. It turns out it was! Any TDI from the dieselgate era (09-14) is open to full coverage for engine, turbo, and emissions system for 120000 miles or ten years (whichever comes first). VW is doing 30 hours worth of work to my car at no cost. That being said Frank's has been knowledgeable and reasonable throughout the whole process. I will be a return customer outside of my off chance warranty.

I've been going to Frank's Auto for at least 4 years at this point and can't recommend them enough. I have a vintage Porsche and they really know their stuff when it comes to old German auto repair. They've always been spot-on with any diagnostic assessments, explaining all issues, and then complete work quickly. I've never had any issues with repairs coming back to haunt me either. They also bill very fairly!
They have a good waiting room and value customer service. Nick, his team of mechanics, and of course Sharon at the front, always take very good care of me. Go check them out!

Best ever!…. Customer service was great, they were professional, efficient, knowledgeable and attentive. It’s good to have a place like Franks to service my import as opposed to the dealerships, who are outrageous! (Pricing AND underwhelming customer care).

Frank's did a great job as always. My car suddenly decided to stop shifting into reverse. I called them and they got me in right away. While diagnosing the issue, they also determined my reverse lights weren't working. They quickly determined that it was a bad switch. Didn't charge me to reconnect the loose cable, and had me back on the road in a day. These guys know what they're doing and aren't out to gouge their customers.

Nick should consider a second career in family counseling. He provided excellent communication between my adult daughter, my ex-husband, and me! What could have ended in a huge family fight was avoided due to his patience and empathy along with his knowledge and skills. His transparency and willingness to offer or discuss multiple options and consider safety, value, and expense is appreciated. My daughter has a safe and reliable car now. That was the first goal. She is also aware of the next recommended services and costs. And her dad and I were able to make informed decisions with the detailed cost estimate. The car was ready on time. The staff is courteous.

This is a long overdue review for a good deed done by the mechanics at Franks. My husband needed to adjust the sway bar on our truck and was without out the right tool. We were already late heading out on our trip-- so he drove to Frank's to see if they had the tool and could squeeze us in. The mechanic was more than happy to help, did the adjustment right away and didn't charge us a thing. It was a small request (maybe took 10 minutes total) but Frank's had no obligation to say yes -- but did so anyway without taking advantage of lack of planning on our part. Thanks Frank's!

I have been taking my '75 BMW to them for 9-10 years. I switched from another independent repair shop that I had a bad experience with. Frank's employees and service is fairly priced and thorough. I often suggest to them extreme measures on certain issues, and instead they evaluate the problems and employ more reasonable, less costly repair strategies.

I switched over to Frank's recently and it's one of the best decisions I've made for my Porsche's. Their customer service is phenomenal and the quality of work is unbeatable. Nick and Sharon is the best!!!

I was visiting from out of town when my car broke down about a half mile away from Franks. I called them up and asked if they work on BMWs. Forgot to ask if they could work on it today. I drove my car very cautiously to Franks. When I arrived, they were sincere and accommodating and let me know that they would try to fit me in the same day but it was most likely going to be a next day job. A couple of hours later I receive a quote for the job as well as a visual inspection for everything else that may need replacement. There was no pressure from them to try to up sell. No bread and butter sale pressure like cabin air filter needs replacing.
The next day they called me before noon and had me on the road pretty quickly with a coupon for a free car wash as well.
Would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area.
A clean shop is a happy shop.
Frank's Automotive is that rare gem that makes you feel like your dad is gonna work on your car. Except that "dad" is highly trained and will fix your car right the first time. I took my car in and it was diagnosed and repaired quickly and expertly. From now on, Frank's is the first place I call when my 17 year old Porsche needs a little TLC.

I have been having my VW Golf serviced by Frank's Auto for over three years. I bought my car from a good friend who had the same car serviced for the previous ten years. I heartily recommend Frank's Auto for their friendly attitude and great customer service! Also, they have a nice waiting room to relax in while waiting on repair results. They have even added a recent perk for customers by adding Uber rides to and from the shop. Wow! Thank you, Frank's Auto.

I have been coming here for years. I love the shop and everyone in it. A great family and a great team.
I bring my 2007 S550 to Sacramento from Reno to get it serviced by Frank's Automotive. They do better work than the dealer at a fraction of the cost.
The same goes for my 1988 560SL which they have been servicing for nearly 15 years. It has a quarter-million miles on it and it still runs great.
My experience with the Mercedes dealer service has been horrible. I don't trust them at all. I completely trust everyone at Frank's.
I cannot begin to tell you how much money I've saved by coming here over the years. I've gotten dealer estimates for many jobs and Frank's has done the same exact work -- by the book, for thousands less.
This is a great place for car enthusiasts who really know how they want their car set up. It is an even better place for ladies who aren't into cars but want to be told the truth about the work required on their vehicle and who want a honest deal on the price.
